At any time during your business planning process, you may find yourself in need of a goal setting worksheet.
As a businessperson, you need goals and a good plan to keep you on track with them.
If the spider in the picture below had been clear on his goals, he might not ended up in hot water!
My friend T.C. Townsend writes:
The spider was making poor life choices this morning. It was following its instinct and reacting to danger. Each choice took it deeper into danger.
Seeing and honoring the struggle, I helped the spider to safety.
The spider dodged a bullet by escaping the danger of going down the drain.
I saw the spider display heroic feats of Faith, Action and Ingenuity.
Seeing this, I chose to bail his ass out.
I wonder how many times my Higher Power has watched me struggle and in the end bailed my ass out?

You don’t want to get caught unawares. To avoid that in the future, it’s a good idea to use a goal setting worksheet.
What are some of the things you need to keep in mind when setting goals?
- Think ahead, envisioning the big picture. What is the ultimate desired outcome?
- What are the steps you need to take to get there?
- Set a date by which you can reasonably expect to reach your goal.
There’s more to it, of course. Like, what obstacles might you need to overcome, and how would you do that? And what small rewards are you going to give yourself along the way? And how will you know when you’ve reached your goal?
S.M.A.R.T. goals are “in.” And they are smart. But the S.M.A.R.T. formula doesn’t cover all the bases. You need a S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goal setting method to assure your success.
