**CHECKLIST FOR WHAT TO SEND US

√____ The name to place on the title page:

Tell us in the text of your email what words you want us to use to replace “PetWrites.com” in the phrase “Brought to you by ________.”

√____ Your Display Ad for the last page of the ebook

√____ “G-rated”: Send us a display ad featuring something that does not contain or imply “adult” content or anything illegal, immoral, or not in compliance with generally accepted social mores.

√____ In .jpg or .doc format. Display Ad size: Maximum 7″ wide x 10″ high, including anchor text.

√____ Tell us in the text of your email what words are to appear as anchor text in your display ad

√____ In the text of your email, give us the url for your display ad, if different from the anchor text

Since links in .pdfs can be stubborn, we suggest you use the actual url as your anchor text and add something like “If the link doesn’t work, copy and paste the url into your browser’s address bar.”

____ Your Pet Name (if any):

First of all, you do not have to feature a favorite pet. If you want to go with the original Pepper and Precious characters, just say so.

√____ In the text of your email, tell us your pet name.

√____ Your Pet Photos:

You may need to shoot new pet pictures. (See instructions below). These will be close-ups! Groom your pet(s) so you’ll be proud of the pictures in the ebook.

Shoot your pictures today, and send them to us right away for customization.

√____ How to : to Your Pet in the Text:

On page 8 of the ebook, the page where Precious first speaks up to tell Santa she wants to deliver the gifts for him, there is a line of text that reads:

Then Precious the Pet Writes Puppy spoke up.

“I’ll go with you, Santa,” Precious said with a yup.

Since your pet is not the Pet Writes puppy, you should replace the words “the Pet Writes Puppy” with some of your own, like maybe “our dear little puppy” or “Josh’s cute little kitty,” etc.

Be sure to tell us how you want that line to read.

**IF YOU DON’T SEND IT TO US, WE CAN’T USE IT. BE SURE TO INCLUDE ALL ITEMS ON THIS CHECKLIST.

PHOTO INSTRUCTIONS

Look at the pet pictures in the free ebook and model yours after those, making sure you are shooting from the right angle.

Unless you want to use our original Pepper character, you will need two photos of the pet to be featured:

√____ One of your pet standing (or flying, if it’s a bird), taken from a slight angle (this one is for the other pages on which your pet’s photo will appear).

For a dog or cat, an excellent way to take the latter photo is to have someone hold out a treat so that the pet stands on his or her hind legs to get it.)

√____ One of your pet lying down with head up (taken standing in front of your pet, a bit off to the side, for use in the bed scene with the Rudolph dream).

If your pet is a bird or a horse, look at the example page in the Pepper and Precious ebook to determine what position you want to photograph your pet in.

NOTE: We turned a photo of Pepper standing on its side and made other adjustments for the bed scene. Don’t risk this. Take a photo of your pet lying down.

THINGS TO PAY ATTENTION TO:

• Make sure your photos are clear, not fuzzy. Look at the pictures in the book to make sure the photos you send us will work in them.

• Take care that there are NO leashes or human hands or anything else you don’t want to show up on the animal’s body. Backgrounds can be removed, but whatever is in front of your pet’s body when you shoot the picture will stay there in the book.

Although the picture on the left below is a nice photo, it would not work because of the leash in front of the white fur. The one on the right, however, will work fine, as the leash does not cross in front of the dog’s body (the collar will show, but hey, that’s OK):

• Be sure that no part of the pet’s body is cut off. We need to see the entire animal clearly. Feet and ears count! This photo wouldn’t do, as the dog’s feet are cut off:
